1. Description and Goals
Descripton

  • Facilitating collaboration and discussion among Liberty members with an interest in identity management applications and services
  • Acting as forum to discuss best practices by organizations in Norway


Goals

  • Share solutions and/or technical approaches to avoid ‘reinventing the wheel’ and to drive adoption of standards-based identity management mechanisms
  • Contribute to development of Deployment Guidelines document, based on best practices shared in SIG
  • Identification of and agreement upon common identity attributes that need to be profiled in Norwegian contexts
  • Discussion around Identity Providers and Identity Brokers recognizing that cooperation between public and private sectors and development of commercial services will contribute to adoption of successful authentication in Norway


2. Scope
The Norway SIG is chartered to

  • discuss common challenges in the Norwegian marketplace
  • identify opportunities to drive awareness and adoption of Liberty's output in the region
  • Where appropriate, take part in the identification, planning, execution and follow-up of Norwegian events
  • Where appropriate, recommend liaison relationships for Liberty that will further adoption and deployment of Liberty solutions
  • To provide Liberty with spokespersons on Norwegian topics related to the Liberty agenda


3. Criteria for Success

  • Sufficient participation from interested community experts, including Liberty members and non-members
  • Strong information sharing on relavant topics across the group
  • Regular meetings (phone and/or physical) to facilitate group communication, experience sharing and guidance


4. Duration
The Norway SIG is chartered by the Liberty Management Board. It may be amended from time to time.
Resource Requirements The SIG requires the following support from the Liberty organization:

  • Mail lists established, with archives, on the public pages with a dedicated wiki
  • Globally available conference call facilities, with a dedicated conference call number which all participants can access
  • Ability to delegate tasks to appointed Program Management office including, but not limited to, management of the mail lists, registration/retirement of participants, and arranging of conference call facilities for external and internal use

Active member participants in the SIG are expected to:

  • Actively participate and drive the e-mail discussions, teleconferences, and regional events.
  • Collaborate and provide regional expertise to other Liberty entities as requested.


5. SIG meetings
The Norway SIG will primarily communicate using e-mailing lists and conference calls. A SIG Web page will be created on the member intranet. Face-to-Face meetings will be held from time to time as determined by the SIG Chair in consultation with Liberty management.

6. Memberships
Membership in the Norway SIG is open to the general public.
