Discussion of the CCHIT use cases and document circulated, with special attention to the use cases. The networking use case was recirculated to the list, as this is the one we thought had most relevance to Liberty's focus. Agreement amongst attendees that the infrastructure defined in the use case didn't seem current with infrastructure in place at most medical institutions that are networking together (perhaps reflective of a single institution not networked to the outside, but not those that are working with others). Perhaps one place where Liberty could help bring focus is in the network infrastructure layer.
Richard Moore and Pete Palmer agreed to review the networking use case in detail and provide a summary position to the group of Liberty's potential response to this particular use case. Deborah Lafky has also posted twice to the list offering to facilitate a call with CCHIT to provide more detail around the use cases. Due date for submission is May 5.
Brett's higher level response was also discussed. Agreement that a higher level response would be good to include, in addition to some more detailed commentary on the use cases. Britta agreed to wordsmith any feedback the group can provide, and then add this higher level response at the front end.
Rick Drummond also commented on the testing aspect of the document, noting that Liberty's test profile could be expanded to facilitate the validation that CCHIT is seeking (Rick is also participating in HIMSS' response, so is familiar with the document and desired testing program). We can point to our relationship and work with the GSA to validate our capabilities in this respect. Eric cautioned that our response should indicate this is an expansion opportunity vs we've already done this, as draft responses have perhaps implied.
